B.Voc. - Hotel Management

The B.Voc. program in Hotel Management is designed to provide students with comprehensive knowledge and practical skills required for a career in the hospitality industry, particularly in hotel and resort management. This interdisciplinary program combines theoretical learning with hands-on training to prepare students for various roles within the hospitality sector.

Throughout the program, students acquire a broad understanding of the hospitality industry, including hotel operations, food and beverage management, front office procedures, housekeeping management, event planning, customer service, and culinary arts. They learn about the principles of hospitality management, guest relations, quality standards, and industry trends.

The curriculum covers a wide range of topics relevant to hotel management, including hotel administration, hotel marketing and sales, revenue management, human resource management, financial management, and hospitality law. Students also learn about food safety and sanitation, menu planning, food production, and restaurant operations.

Hands-on training is an integral part of the program, with students gaining practical experience through internships, industry placements, and simulated hotel operations. They have the opportunity to work in various departments of a hotel or resort, such as front desk, housekeeping, food and beverage, kitchen, and event management, under the guidance of experienced professionals.

In addition to technical skills, students develop soft skills such as communication, leadership, teamwork, problem-solving, and cultural sensitivity, which are essential for success in the hospitality industry. They learn to handle guest inquiries and complaints, manage staff, coordinate events, and ensure customer satisfaction.

Upon graduation, students can pursue a variety of career opportunities in the hospitality sector. They may work as hotel managers, front office managers, food and beverage managers, event planners, catering managers, or executive chefs in hotels, resorts, restaurants, catering companies, event management firms, cruise lines, and other hospitality establishments. Graduates may also choose to start their ventures in the hospitality industry, such as opening their hotels, restaurants, or catering businesses.
