The youth here have the biggest contribution in the construction and development of all countries. Today, about 65-70 percent of the population in our country consists of youth, who are carrying the responsibility of the entire country on their shoulders, and these youth are playing an important role in the development and development of the country. The most important and first effort to increase the important role of youth in nation building and to connect them with the country was started by Mahatma Gandhi even before the independence of the country. At the time of independence, Gandhi ji had given special emphasis on connecting all the youth with national service. After the country became independent, . The University Grants Commission, headed by S.Radhakrishnan, had recommended the introduction of Voluntary National Service in educational institutions. The Central Advisory Board of Education discussed this in its meeting in January, 1950. Whereas after 2 years, the Government of India laid emphasis on social and labor service of students for 1 year under the five-year plan.
After this, the then Prime Minister Jawahar Lal Nehru took cognizance of this subject and then the draft of National Service Scheme was presented in the Education Minister's Conference. Under this, a National Service Committee was established on August 28, 1959. Whereas the National Service Scheme program was started by the then Education Minister Dr. V.K.R.V. Rao on September 24, 1969 in 37 universities, in which about 40,000 volunteers participated.
National Service Scheme (NSS) was started with the main objective to develop a sense of respect for labor along with social, moral and humanitarian values among the students associated with higher education. Students should do social service to make good use of their free time and leisure and can also interact with real situations. So that their personality develops. First of all, National Service Scheme was started in Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh in 1969 in two universities of the state and at present in.
Organization :-
This scheme, promoted by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India, is run through National Service Scheme units established in 2 schools/institutions of higher education, technical, agricultural, medical education by the University under the control of the State Administration, Higher Education Department.
Objective of National Service Scheme :-
“Social service through education and education through social service”.

Inspiration man :-
Swami Vivekananda, a symbol of human service and youth consciousness, has been recognized as the inspiration behind the National Service Scheme. Swami Vivekananda ji's childhood name was Narendra Nath Dutt, Swami ji was a famous and influential spiritual guru of Vedanta. Swami Vivekananda ji was recognized as the national symbol of youth by the Government of India under the International Youth Year of 1984-85. Since then, Recognized him as their icon in the service scheme.
Code of conduct for National Service Scheme volunteers:-
1. All National Service Scheme volunteers will work under the guidance of the team leader appointed by the Program Officer.
2. One should be worthy of cooperation and trust for leadership of the party/community.
3. Volunteers should stay away from anti-social and unhygienic activities in every situation.
4. They will record all their daily activities/experiences in the diary.
5. Every volunteer should have NSS uniform at the time of NSS work. Must wear a badge.
6. N.S.S. All the members of the CPI shout "Jai Hind" to greet each other.
Objective of National Service Scheme:-
"Personality Development through Social Service" Its specific objectives are as follows -
1. To understand well whatever settlement/village/city and community there is human civilization.
2. To develop social responsibility and civic sense.
3. To identify the problems and needs of entire human life.
4. To apply education and knowledge in finding practical solutions to the difficulties of human life.
5. To develop scientific attitude.
6. To develop qualities like leadership.
7. To develop the ability to face crises, troubles and natural disasters.
8. To promote national unity and integrity.

N.S.S. It is a voluntary organization of young students studying in schools, colleges and universities which provides services to the society without any favoritism and discrimination. Its main objective is to create a sense of social welfare among all the youth, and through community services it really helps in building their personality. N.S.S. Every student works with his body, mind and money day and night in a spirit of service for the society and the country. This organization is NIILM. University, Kaithal, Haryana,India.
The community service done by the students of the University covers many aspects like working hard, heart and money in cleaning villages and urban slums for intensive development work, conducting medico-social surveys, conducting mass vaccination programmes. , provide food, clothing, shelter and first aid to the victims in distress, organize blood donation camps to meet the shortage of blood in hospitals, plant trees to protect the environment and save Mother Earth, Adult education programs for all weaker sections of the community, helping those living in orphanages and the physically challenged, etc. N.S.S. Volunteers are always ready to provide assistance in natural and man-made disasters, conduct cleanliness drives for cleanliness and healthy living, road safety awareness campaigns to reduce road accidents, Nooks for Beti Bachao and Beti Padhao. They themselves run drama and awareness campaigns in every village.
N.S.S. The students have also done useful work in campaigning for the eradication of social evils and popularizing nationally accepted objectives such as nationalism, democracy, secularism, social harmony and development of scientific temper. N.S.S. Volunteers work in a spirit of service to provide relief in natural and man-made disasters, providing food, clothing, shelter and first aid to victims in distress. Organize blood donation camps to meet the shortage of blood in hospitals, plant trees to protect the environment and save mother earth, conduct cleanliness drives for cleanliness and healthy living, road accidents to reduce road accidents. They run safety awareness campaigns, street plays for Beti Bachao and Beti Padhao and self-awareness campaigns in every village. N.S.S. During special camps, volunteers work in villages to learn the values of the people and how to live a good life despite limited resources. N.S.S. Special camps develop a sense of social responsibility.
N.S.S. From the experiences of many programs of I am sure that all the volunteers will learn to live life respectfully with a positive mindset and I have full faith that every volunteer here will contribute to the development of the nation in some way or the other.
