Dr. Usha Rani is an accomplished legal academic and researcher with qualifications of LL.B., LL.M., NET, and Ph.D., from Kurukshetra University, Haryana. She has over 12 years of teaching experience in legal education along with 3 years of court practice, reflecting a strong blend of academic insight and practical legal exposure.
Her academic engagement includes active participation in numerous national and international conferences, seminars, workshops, and faculty development programs, covering interdisciplinary themes such as criminal law reforms, constitutional law, juvenile justice, sustainable development, federalism, and legal education under NEP-2020. She has also served as an Organizer of a One-Day Seminar on the New Criminal Amendment Act, focusing on its implications and key legal changes, and has participated in conferences conducted by the Supreme Court of India.
Dr. Usha Rani has presented several research papers at reputed platforms on topics including juvenile delinquency, role of media, federalism and social justice, uniform civil code, and one nation one election, demonstrating her consistent scholarly contribution to contemporary legal issues.
She has an impressive publication record with research papers published in national and international journals, such as Ravindra Bharti Patrika, INDICA, Madhya Bharti, International Journal of Criminal, Common and Statutory Law, International Journal of Law, Justice and Jurisprudence, IRJCL, and International Journal of Civil Law and Legal Research. Her research areas prominently include juvenile justice, human rights, constitutional law, media law, privacy, governance, surrogacy, and criminal justice administration.
She is also the author of the book “Shattered Dreams: Confronting the Crisis of Child Labour in India”, published by ICERT, and has contributed book chapters on cyber crime against women and children, with another book on Yoga and the Indian Judiciary: Constitutional Reflection on Educational Integration currently under publication.
Her academic excellence and dedication have been recognized through several honors, including the Certificate of Appreciation in Legal Studies (2023) and the Best Teacher of the Year Award (2025) at NIILM University, Kaithal. She regularly participates in academic development initiatives, workshops, and seminars, underscoring her commitment to continuous professional growth and quality legal education.
