M.Voc. - Pulp & Paper Technology

The M.Voc. (Master of Vocation) program in Pulp & Paper Technology is a specialized course designed to equip students with advanced knowledge and skills related to the pulp and paper industry. It focuses on the entire process of paper production, from raw material sourcing to the manufacturing of various paper products.

Throughout the program, students delve into various aspects of pulp and paper technology, including wood processing, pulping techniques, papermaking processes, chemical additives, paper properties, and quality control measures. They learn about different types of pulping methods such as kraft pulping, sulfite pulping, and mechanical pulping, as well as the role of chemicals and enzymes in the pulping process.

The curriculum covers a wide range of topics, including fiber science, paper chemistry, paper recycling, wastewater treatment, energy management, and environmental sustainability in the pulp and paper industry. Students also gain practical experience through hands-on training in pulp and paper mills, where they learn about equipment operation, process optimization, and troubleshooting.

The program emphasizes the integration of theoretical knowledge with practical skills to prepare students for careers in the pulp and paper industry. Graduates of the program are equipped to work in various roles such as pulp and paper technologists, process engineers, quality control specialists, environmental engineers, and research scientists. They can find employment opportunities in pulp and paper mills, paper product manufacturing companies, research institutions, consulting firms, and government agencies involved in environmental regulation and resource management. With their expertise in pulp and paper technology, they contribute to the efficient and sustainable production of paper products while minimizing environmental impact.
