B.Voc. - Construction & Building Technology

The B.Voc. (Bachelor of Vocation) program in Construction & Building Technology is tailored to provide students with comprehensive knowledge and practical skills required in the construction industry. This program integrates theoretical learning with hands-on training to prepare students for diverse roles within the construction sector.

The curriculum encompasses various aspects of construction and building technology, covering topics such as construction materials, building techniques, structural engineering, architectural design, project management, and sustainability principles. Students learn about different types of construction materials, their properties, and applications in building construction. They gain insights into construction methods, including traditional and modern techniques, as well as emerging trends in sustainable construction practices.

Throughout the program, students engage in practical exercises and projects to develop skills in blueprint reading, drafting, surveying, estimation, and construction site management. They also learn about building codes, regulations, and safety standards governing the construction industry. Additionally, students are introduced to computer-aided design (CAD) software and building information modeling (BIM) tools used for architectural drafting and project planning.

The program emphasizes real-world experience through internships, site visits, and industry collaborations, allowing students to apply their knowledge in actual construction projects. Graduates of the program are equipped to pursue various career paths in the construction industry, including construction managers, site supervisors, project coordinators, quantity surveyors, building inspectors, and construction technicians. They can find employment opportunities in construction companies, architectural firms, engineering consultancies, government agencies, and real estate development companies. With their expertise in construction and building technology, they contribute to the successful planning, design, and execution of construction projects while adhering to quality standards and regulatory requirements.
