One Day National Symposium on World Youth Skills Day and Faculty Development Program

NIILM University, Kaithal, in collaboration with its Centre for Professional Development (CPD) and Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), organized a One Day National Symposium on World Youth Skills Day on July 15, 2024. The theme for the symposium was "Youth Skills and Sustainable Development: Building an Equitable and Inclusive Future of Work."

The event commenced with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp by distinguished guests. The Chief Guest, Prof. Sushil Kumar, Principal of Government College, Asandh, graced the occasion, along with eminent guests including Dr. Vikas Anand, former Principal of Government College, Ratia, and distinguished faculty members Dr. Ravinder Singh (Assistant Professor, Dept. of Public Administration Govt. College, Bherian, Kurukshetra), Dr. Anuradha (Assistant Professor & HOD, Department of English, MDSD College, Ambala City, Haryana), Dr. Mehar Singh (Assistant Professor, Journalism & Mass Communication, Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar Govt. (PG) College Kaithal), and Dr. Rinku (Assistant Professor & HOD, Department of Defence Studies Jyotiba Phule Govt. College, Radur, Yamunanagar).

Inaugurating the symposium, Prof. (Dr.) Shamim Ahmed, the Vice Chancellor of NIILM University, congratulated the organizers and emphasized the pivotal role of youth in shaping future policies with a focus on their empowerment.

Prof. R.K. Gupta, Dean of Academics, extended a warm welcome to all participants. Dr. Sandeep Kumar, Director of Centre for Professional Development (CPD), provided detailed insights into the significance of World Youth Skills Day.

Addressing the audience, Prof. Sushil Kumar highlighted the global concern of unemployment and stressed the urgent need for skill development and capacity building to address this issue effectively. The session moderation was carried out by Dr. Richa Mor, Dr. Rishika, and Ms. Anju Bala. Dr. Ekta Chahal and Dr. Pavitra presented more insights on the theme during the symposium.

Dr. Rekha Gupta, Dean of Commerce and Management, expressed gratitude to the guests, faculty members, and students for their participation and contributions. The event was attended by several dignitaries including Dr. Vikas Deep Kohli, Dr. Manoj Kumar, Dr. Mahendra Munde, Dr. Preeti Jangra, Prof. Deepak Gour Pharmacy, Dr. Suman Bhukkal, Dr. Suman, Dr. Aarti, Dr. Preeti, and many research scholars.

The symposium concluded with a vote of thanks and a commitment to continue fostering youth skills and sustainable development initiatives.
