B. Sc. – Home Science

A Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Home Science offers a multidisciplinary approach to the study of various aspects related to home and family life. This program encompasses a diverse range of subjects including nutrition, food science, human development, family studies, textile and clothing, housing, resource management, and extension education. Students explore the physiological, psychological, and sociological aspects of individuals and families, gaining insights into factors that influence well-being and quality of life. Nutrition and food science courses delve into dietary requirements, meal planning, food safety, and the nutritional value of foods, equipping students with the knowledge to promote health and prevent diseases through proper nutrition. Human development studies focus on the physical, cognitive, and emotional development across the lifespan, from infancy to old age, while family studies examine family dynamics, relationships, and interventions to support family functioning. Textile and clothing courses cover fabric selection, garment construction, fashion design, and textile technology, providing skills for clothing production and textile industry careers.
